Sorcs are typical glass cannons, massive dmg and very low survivability.

I have only played early ranks until 10 and I can say they dish out the most dmg of all classes early game, with combos they are deadly and a fairly easily played class if u have experience with caster classes and a good connection so you dont lag to much.

I for one love the concet of them and enjoy playing a kite and dmg class.

Honestly it is a problem, at around 8-9 you are starved for mana pretty much all the time, it restricts your grinding heavily and tbh the best way of leveling is with a mate.

You can ofc work around it by using loads of mana pots but its simply to costly to keep going like that.

I Seriously see this as the biggest issue with teh sorc right now, some decent way of getting mana fast would be desireable

I played a mage this weekend and up to lvl 10 never had any mana too.
luckily after lvl 10 you get a mana regen spell.  which uses odellea powders to work.

What an awesome class.   Really good dps

I'm def ginna have me one.

Which class have people had the easiest time lvling? Do warriors/scouts require mana or something like it to keep grinding at a fast pace?  I take it that this game isnt like CoH where you would want to pick an AoE class with survivability and run into huge packs of mobs and AoE as many as you can get?  It seems like this game is more of I hope I don't die if 2 things attack me?

Scouts dont need any resources, they have mana bar but they dont use it for combat skills.
I have scout on Ariel.
Warriors can take more damage then scouts but dont deal more dmg then scouts. Mages are 1-2 shotting equal lvl mobs but you have mana downtime. there are some mana regen pots etc. But at early levels if you spam use them you'll be out of finances for other important needs.

Alright since were on this sorcerer topic I have a question: In your opinion what do you think is the better class in general sorcerer or spiritmaster ? I have searched the internet for peoples opinion before deciding what class I would go after ascension during CB6 (I went sorcerer), but I wanted to know what you all thought.    Grin

Spiritmaster seems to take more skill (buttonpressing  Cheesy ) an attention then sorcerer, you heavily rely on your summoned spirit. Also some summons are better against certain classes so you dont use just one. So besides your own, you have to learn each of the summons abilities.

not to knock what you said Gmode but you've got that a little backwards.  Sorcs are ALOT more skill based than spirit masters.  having played both the past two betas up to level 26~ sorc requires you to CC your targets and always have your earth shield up.  you have to be smart when pulling as a sorc as well since you cant get more than 2 guys or your in trouble.  where as on my spirit master i can pull 3 and some times even 4 guys before i find myself running for my life.

Basicly this is the easiest way to decide on which of the two caster classes you want to go though.

Think of the spirit master as a beast mastery hunter.  your pet is doing just as much dmg (if not more than you depending on the pet) and it basicly serves as your own personal tank, also in my experience Spirit Masters are more mana efficient than sorcs.

Now think of the sorc as an arcane mage in 3. 0 by this i mean CC is your best friend, you want to blow your opponent away as fast as possible while at the same time remembering to keep your distance from your target as best you can.  (this is not only the case in PvP but also in PvE).

The launch patch will leave Spirit Masters even further crippled however for PvP.  An issue with them is that they're pets are land base where as alot of the combat in this game will take place in the air.  To make the matter worse, aside from almost forcing them to be land combatants they're greatly weakening Spirit Masters pets in 1. 5 if you roll as a spirit master you will be met with hardship after hardship including in endgame content as you will never stack up with the other classes (unless NCSoft decides to buff them *give them a flying pet, and not nerf their pets*).

Another serious nerf to not only them but also sorcerers is that our fear and CC will no longer cancel flight.  This is in my opinion even as a sorcerer a WELL NEEDED nerf as we can essentially 1 shot anyone just by CCing them when they're in flight.  but for combat thats closer to the ground (where the opponent doesn't take much dmg it is going to hurt a little as it was part of many of our strategies if we get in a pinch.
